Chase Survey - Chase Scam

Chase Survey
410-774-8465 or 4107748465
Caller ID shows: Chase S

8/29/11 @ 11:02am - I received a call from a woman saying she was from Chase bank and taking a survey. She called on the home line (which Chase doesn't have), and asked me if I had time to take a survey.

I told her to remove the #. I also did a call trace.

Looking online shows this is most likely a telephone scam, and since they don't have that phone number, then most likely it is randomly or sequentially dialed and is a banking scam call.

Be careful.

  1. This number reads "Chase Survey" on caller id. They had called for the last few days (no message and no answer when calling back) so I decided to answer and see what it was about. The person said it was a survey on behalf of Chase and not a sales call. I decided to proceed and would hang up if they seemed to ask anything I had an issue with. He asked if I had visited a branch recently (I had), so I said yes. He then asked if I had visited XXX branch (which was the exact branch I had visited a few days ago), so I said yes. On a side note, this made the call seem much more legitimate since they knew the exact branch I had been to. He then asked me to rate how satisfied I was with my visit there on a scale of 1 to 10. Then he asked me questions about if I had gone in for a teller or other issue, and again asked me to rate 1 to 10 on those interactions. At no time did he ask me anything account specific or for any of my personal information. The entire call took less than 5 mins. I then decided to call my banker and he said that Chase has been calling customers to take surveys on the visits they had to the branch, but could not tell me if this was the number they called from, but said it sounded like what he would expect on a call like that. Hope this helps.

  3. It's not a scam. I get these calls EVERY time I have to do any banking with a teller at a branch office. They want to know how I liked my customer service experience. It's not a scam... it's just annoying.

  4. OK. In my case they called on a totally unrelated phone # that is not associated with my business account at all. Just be aware that someone could make a caller ID show Chase S or Chase Survey and then try to phish/social hack you for information, and that might have been the case initially for me and some of the other people online. It's best to not give out any information, period. Thanks for the comment.

  6. If you fall for this you cannot blame anyone but yourself! Information over the phone should never be disclosed! No exceptions!

  7. That's exactly what I say. When people call to verify subscriptions, or even someone saying they are from the Government, no information will be given over the phone.

I've had people try to do social hacking to get computer equipment purchasing #'s from me. They go so far to tell you to look at the back of the printer and tell them what # is there.

To go a step fruther, also put passwords on all of your accounts/bills/utilities so they can't be changed.
